I asked people on my Facebook music page how they discovered my music. I found out:
A - All the gigging, flyering and shaking hands was worth it.
B - No one thing helped to build an audience. It's a combination.
C - Steve Davis, Ian Fairholm and David Elliott's and the other podcasts really helped. As did Prog magazine. And blogs.
D - It's still all about Word Of Mouth.

The days of everyone hearing about a band at the same time and them suddenly becoming popular seem to be over, at least in the niche/underground music scene. Unless someone throws lots of money at it
